Landscapes & Still Life

Although best known for his portraits and murals, Moya painted landscapes and still lifes throughout his life, often as opportunities to explore color, atmosphere, and composition free from the demands of commissioned work. His landscapes range from the villages and countryside of Spain to the hills, bays, and gardens of California. Whether depicting a sweeping view or a simple arrangement of flowers or fruit, these works reveal the influence of both the Spanish classical tradition and the modern artistic movements he encountered in Paris.
