Caroline Livermore was an energetic woman instrumental in establishing Point Reyes National Seashore and Angel Island and other state parks in the San Francisco area. She led the movement to acquire the estate of the Worn and Kittle families in Ross, CA, to preserve it for community use. The Marin Art and Garden Center was inaugurated in 1945, with Caroline Livermore as its President and José Moya del Pino as Vice President.
